MECCA SOUL came into existence in 2006 when founder, William “Deuce” York, left, the international DJ partnered, World Class Entertainment to pursue his own mobile Disc Jockey service.  Deuce spent 10 years honing is craft with WCE and has brought those skills and talents to MECCA SOUL.

Prior to the founding of MECCA SOUL, Deuce was a DJ and air personality for WRFG Atlanta 89.3 FM were his show, “The World Party” was voted #1 Caribbean show in Atlanta 2000.  Deuce was also the official DJ for Harmony In Life, a monthly soul-fest featuring the hottest up and coming urban artist along with national artists.  The Harmony In Life bill has featured Deuce opening for India Arie, Raheem DeVaughn, Rahsaan Patterson, Dionne Farris, Tony Rich, Eric Roberson, PJ Morton, N’dambi, Rhonda Thomas, Julie Dexter, Algebra Blessett, Anthony David and so many others.

Deuce has dazzled crowds internationally in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica and stateside at Underground Atlanta’s Sugar Hill, Club Privilege, Blue Lights, Hard Rock Café’s Velvet Underground room and various other venues.

In 2021 Deuce was given the opportunity to get back on the radio waves by Dave Tolliver of the 90’s R&B group Men At Large.  Deuce is one of the DJs for the syndicated radio show, Party & Bullish Show.   The PNBS show airs in the south, east coast, midwest, west coast, the Caribbean and even London, England 7days a week!  Deuce also has a second radio show, called the Mecca Soul Xperience. The Mecca Soul Xperience. airs Monday – Thursday 10am – noon in eastern Pennsylvania on the Reewind Radio Network 97.5 fm WRRF.

DJ Deuce found his love for music as a youth in Willingboro, New Jersy creating his own DJ setup with an old record player and a component stereo system at the age of 10.  Deuce having family roots in Bronx River Houses and South Jamaica Queens, was heavily influenced by Kool DJ Red Alert and Marley Marl amongst other legendary DJs.
